Best version of that show, full dynamics, good high-end, perfect L/R balance, intros taken from SOADT DVD, what more can I say??? [Gigio67] At last the searching can stop - forget all other versions, this one is easily the best. [LivingForever] Well, I have a few objections: OFTV still suffers from vinyl surface noises, DT/DE was surprisingly taken from "Musica" instead of using the available pre-FM version, and the intros from the DVD are mono only and quite hissy. By all means, the idea of this compilation is brilliant, but the result fell short of the increased expectations, IMO. Anyway, for the most part the SQ is great and that's no surprise at all, regarding the fact that AV and Dan Lore were involved. [tom] It's not *perfect* because the sound quality of the intros are so obviously different from the songs, making it very obvious that they are taking from another source. That being said, the music sounds brilliant, beter than any other source of this show, and this is still one of the very best concerts they've ever done. Essential. [kaspergm] Please read comments from "Perfect Lyceum," - applicable for both recordings. Peace! [jrromman] Really great! It seems an official CD. [ragnarock] Great upgrade from the Highland version. [legalbeagle] One of my top 5 favorite recordings. This one really is fantastic. Despite the monaural quality of the intros, the songs are amazing quality. Those that are sourced Pre-FM of course. A must have! [duke23] On the whole I think Perfect Lyceum is by far a better recording - fortunately, the tracks that are not so good on that are much better on this, namely: Squonk, Behind The Lines through to Duke's End, Say It's Alright Joe, and I Know What I Like. I've made myself a simple compilation of the two, which does the trick for me - better than The Lyceum Tapes 30th Anniversary Edition remaster (sorry TM). [FakePlasticDunk] |
