Lineage: FM stereo broadcast---> TDK cassette tape---> Goldwave Posted by godbluff on 2006-04-07 09:15:11 These are definitely from the same show - I'm sure seasoned Genesis collectors out there have seen the confusion over this broadcast many times. To begin with Genesis didn't play at the Empire Pool in 74, the whole UK tour including the originally scheduled Wembley gig on 4 Nov had to be cancelled when Steve Hackett injured his hand and was rescheduled for the following Spring. The Wembley Empire Pool show on 15 April 75 was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 shortly after, although only an hour of it, the remainder has never surfaced. It was subsequently re-broadcast many times in various countries, sometimes with a slightly altered track list. Unfortunately it seems some of these were incorrectly attributed by the announcers to be from the original date for the show that was never played. This error was then carried forward onto many boot CDs. A pre-FM version has been in circulation for some time and there are various versions which have compiled all the broadcast tracks together. |
