This is the first part of the 30th Anniversary Remaster 3-disc-box-set of the famous Uptown Theatre Radio Show. The second part is an audio-only DVD-Video containing the complete concert remastered in High Resolution 24 bit Linear PCM Stereo with bonus content. TM/AV - What else need be said :) [DrBoogerloo] A tad better than all the rest. (TM) [kaspergm] I think the real testament to how good this remaster turned out is that it found its way to those at the Farm! [yild4genesis] Quality Rating: Sub-Zero Absolutely amazing sound!!! [thelonghello] What else can I say... This is what I've always thought this source could live up to! [liquidlen] Tom you've done it again.. Tom & the teams hard work makes this, a truly AWESOME release. Which in IMHO will not be surpassed. [Squonkendos] It should be added that the DVD contains the whole concert in Quadraphonic surround - as it was originally broadcast. The DVD delivers four discrete audio channels, left front, right front, left rear and right rear (4.0) in both DTS and Dolyb Digital, digitally decoded from SQ-Quad. Awesome! [Fluglotse] A monumental achievement that sets the standard for all other remaster projects as well as a testament to TM Productions love for the music of Genesis. A work of art to die for. [MetalMike] I have to agree with what someone up above commented. It is a tad better than all the rest. I have heard raving reviews over this but if we are talking about the stereo source alone, I cannot hear much of a difference between this one and the SAB source. I hear the SAB source was the main source used for this remaster. Just because I can't hear much of a difference doesn't mean it is not outstanding. I think my ears are getting old. :) I did notice that many of the pops my ear detected in the previous source were now gone and the entire show here maintains its tonality throughout which my previous source did not. The main draw is the DVD which contains the entire show in a continuous stream with no interruptions in Quadraphonic Surround, as it was originally broadcast by WXRT!! Photos taken during the actual gig on the night accompany the playback for the entire duration! That is a nice draw because I felt for that time that it drew you closer to the source and makes you feel as if you are actually there inside the Uptown watching the show. This whole project was a tremendous labor of love and Tom deserves all the praise in the world for it!! It really is a must have!! [duke23] First version of this show that I think lives up to the hype. A terrific effort from all involved. This boot has come a long way from my original vinyl copy of 'From the Mouth of the Monster'. Probably an A for me, as there are better sounding bootlegs from other tours - and I'm not going the ++++ route for those. [ca1ore] |
