| First time ever seeing Genesis. I was still upset about being stiffed on a ticket to see them in Buffalo back in March. So, an hour and a half drive from Niagara Falls got us into Toronto by mid-afternoon. We walked into a relatively empty Exhibition Stadium and made our way up front to within 30 feet of the stage, on Tony's side. I still remember watching Brand X (opening act) jam for 45 minutes with Phil & Chester watching from the side of the stage. As the evening wore on and the sunlight disappeared, Genesis took the stage. I can still remember the opening notes to Eleventh Earl Of Mar, blue lights showering the stage and green lasers from behind the drums shooting out into the evening sky. 2 hours later, it was over. We had some great conversation for the ride back. [afterglow] |
