From the back cover of ARC004 "Long time awaited: at last, the official 'Genesis Live' as it should have been issued and as Genesis themselves didn't want to. Special thanks to Keith for the tape and to Mr Brush for having been so patient to keep it 'on hold' for almost twelve years. There's always an angel standing in the sun..." [xNearDark] Do we all have the same version of this?? My original boot cd is definitely NOT radio sourced. The sound is crisp and clear, no radio comments or suspected cut-outs anywhere though there is a fair amount audience background and chatter before and after the songs. If it were not for the quite evident (and very vinylish sounding) clicks and pops, I would give this even an A+! For me there is absolutely no question this comes from a pre-fm source and the famous test pressing might be the most logical explanation. btw: I bougth my copy way back in the mid-90ies in a wonderful, long defunct cd store in Milan, Italy. [regnelmo] I have another version of this show which I don't see listed here called 'Genuine Genesis Live' on the GGL label which according to Dunnington may be derived from the King Biscuit broadcast. It does not sound quite as good as the one transferred from vinyl. Maybe it needs a separate listing [squonkman] |
