Soundboard / OAM Matrix [Simon_Funnell] Sound improves after first part of Back In N.Y.C. Remastered from GASP 009 and 010. Probably my favorite Lamb show - Peter is in great vocal shape on this one. [kaspergm] There are certain concerts when everything is right even when it is wrong, and this is one of those. Everything works so well in this performance that nothing really stands out from the set and, in fact, all songs sound very similar to other shows of this part of the tour. And yet, the difference between this and the others is the balance and the attention to what they're doing (even PG hardly forgets any lyrics), which makes up for a remakable gig. The only flaws lie in the occasional mic failures that plague otherwise immaculate renditions of "The Colony Of Slippermen" and "Riding The Scree", and in "The Waiting Room" which, maybe because of the incompleteness of the sources, fails to build a climax. About the recording itself, I like the way the OAM and Soundboard are mixed to make the show as complete as possible, and the sound is beautiful too. [Jack_Floyd] |
