| What's the good news about downloading a recording of the Year Two gift which was announced as a pressed CD which as a paid member I expected not a download.... least I suppose it's something and a fitting end to all the rubbish. |

| Hopefully it will have a live version of 'Eleventh Earl Of Mar' from Seconds Out or the medley from 1984 MAMA Tour. David of WOG, thank you for staying on top of this for us lost souls. |

| will it be special enough not to be on youtube or some torrent site? | |

| As far as I rememember it was stated that the year two gift would be a CD with demos or studio outtakes, like "Mama" on Archive 2. Since there are already some studio outtakes from the Gabriel period available, I personally hope that the "gift" will include some outtakes from the three man era, to shed some light on their creative process. I have watched Phil's documentary on the making of the Mama album (on the movie box) and I thought it was very interesting to get a view of how they were working in the studio, for example with bits and pieces that later became "Home by the Sea". If we are lucky there may even be a half-finished song, that never made it onto an album! |

| That is exactly what I thought we were getting Demos No "live" tracks. Good Job Dave | |
| Hoylep | 6th Jul 2010 |
| Hopefully the download will be FLAC or other lossless format and not mp3. Also, could we ask for some artwork to be included so that we can at least make our own cd. I know something is better than nothing, but I have to say that when you take people's money for a service/product promised, I always thought that legally that service/promise should be met....otherwise by not providing it isn't that known as 'FRAUD'. |

| Finally the 30 minute work-in-progress demo of WhoDunnit will see the light of day ... | |
| DomValela | 7th Jul 2010 |
| Kaspergm, what?! :P I've never heard of such a thing...are you joking or does this exist? And, respectfully; What makes you think they'll put that out? :P |
|
| chinwildchicken | 7th Jul 2010 |
| Well I Have already Done my own Long Version of Who Dunnit :D No, but I wanna know, how they would protect these Downloadsites beeing used from other people? A Username and password? I think that Someone would share his Account, so Everyone would get this :D But I personally Only want some demos and rare Live Versions, Just Like Me & Virgil :) |

| DomValela > That was sort of a running joke on the official board, that first they have a 3 year delay on the CD, and then when it arrived, it would contain something completely horrible - and I think a 30 minute WIP of WhoDunnit was just about the worst anyone could come up with. ;) That being said, the Mama WIP did nothing for me in the first place - sure, it was a nice one-time listen, but it was 10 minutes of disc space that could have been put to far better use. But then, I was never that hot on demos anyway, so I guess chances are this release will leave me pretty indifferent either way. If only they would dig out some of those live recordings ... but I don't think that will happen, sadly. |

| Yes Kasper, and the game continues!! Name your guess tracklist, and the winner will receive... year 3 membership gift as a prize. I highly fear this ''fantastic'' forthcoming 'gift' will include: - 30 minute WIP of WhoDunnit as Kasper already said, then - I Can't Dance studio run-through (at least 10-15 min) - studio version of Turn It On Again Damn Medley (15-20 min with all the cover snippets ever played live) - Invisible Touch (vocal attempt without lyrics) - Jesus He Knows Me (backing track) - Naminanu (full demo version - 10 min) I think that cd's gonna get hours and hours of airplay on my system LOL Alessandro |

| Invisible Touch (vocal attempt without lyrics) studio version of Turn It On Again Damn Medley (15-20 min with all the cover snippets ever played live) ... Sounds interesting :D surely the same applies also: - Anything She Does - full horn section or instrumental - Hold on My Heart without vocals demo attempts. |

| I signed up and I got the free DVD 2 years ago does this mean i will get this download? I did not pay anything last year I don't think for membership. | |
| Simon_Funnell | 8th Jul 2010 |
| No, it will only be officially available for those who paid up for the second consecutive year. I suspect it will appear elsewhere though when it's made available ... |
|
| Kaspergm | 8th Jul 2010 |
| Problem is that one can say that they tricked people into signing up in 2009 by promising the CD as membership, so even if you only payed for that year, technically you can say you are entitled for the CD. But like Simon said, I figure things will work out one way or the other ... | |
| lurke | 9th Jul 2010 |
| Someone in Management should have a list of "all" the members from the website. I know I paid for year two. And was waiting to pay for Year 3 but that never came to be. Where can we find news on Tony Banks & Mike Rutherford? | |
| nowayout | 9th Jul 2010 |
| Was the money taken directly out of your banks accounts or did you pay using paypal etc etc?? | |
| yild4genesis | 12th Jul 2010 |
| What's stopping anyone from passing on the link for the download anyway? Guess it's better than nothing-which is what we had until now... Then again,it's not here yet,is it? ;-) |

| RichardMMPs | 16th Jul 2010 |
| If the material is truly rare and interesting then it will have (maybe) been worthe the wait but, as a paid for item, it should have been a pressed CD with artwork. | |
| lurke | 20th Jul 2010 |
| I totally agree with you Richard!!! | |
| cb63 | 22nd Jul 2010 |
| Update - The actual audio content is not what fans were initially expecting though. Rather than demo or "work in progress" versions of Genesis songs, this audio will be taken from the band's tour rehearsals in Toronto, Canada on September 5, 2007. This live recording is previously unreleased and taken from the start of the North American leg of the Turn it on Again Tour. |

| Sorry...but as much as I love this band, and I really do love Genesis, the way the fans who subscribed for year 2 membership have been treated appallingly. This so called limited and rare release is nothing special.....nothing to really enjoy, in fact I suspect it will not be anything that sounds different than the actual live shows (minus the crowd). We were told it would be demos and/or work in progress....this is just a very quick fix by Ultrastar/Live Nation and I'm surprised that a band of Genesis's reputation who have constantly banged a drum about quality sound and quality releases should allow this to happen. Very very poor in my estimation. |

| one4thevine | 24th Jul 2010 |
| I agree. If it's just the soundcheck from Toronto, what an awful result for those who renewed for the second year (e.g., me and many others who are members here). Simply deplorable... |
|
| Kaspergm | 24th Jul 2010 |
| The 2007 rehearsal thing is hopefully a joke!? XD | |
| squonkduke | 24th Jul 2010 |
| Who do they think we are? Are they kidding us? Can someone please provide an e-mail address to contact ultrastar for complaining? Alessandro |
|
| one4thevine | 25th Jul 2010 |
| @Kaspergm Unfortunately, cb63 was quoting the news from the WorldOfGenesis.com site. Dave (the webmaster there) is pretty well connected, so I bet the news is correct, tragically. Hopefully, our collective disgust will find its way to Ultrastar and they'll change their minds, but I'm not counting on it. |
|
| Kaspergm | 25th Jul 2010 |
| Yes, so I learned, and no, I agree with you, I wouldn't hold my breath on anybody changing their mind. | |
| volcanodancer | 7th Aug 2010 |
| Has anybody been contacted yet? WoG said Ultrastar was to make it available "as early as the end of the week...", which was a month ago. This whole situation is effed. | |
