| I think "Going Back" it's better than TMFIS, but i don't really know what is bothering me; maybe that, because i can't identify Phil from these motown tracks. | |

| Going Back! I personally think the concept for this album is fresh and genious! Phil's vocal's sound great and the song is just fresh! I can't wait to see Phil at the NYC concert in June! | |

| His voice really suits this song...lovin it!!! Not so keen on the finger snaps though!! | |

| I don't want to dismiss the song, but i'm little bit of disappointed, because the sound is somekind of plastic and Phil's vocals sound "old" - In I can Change and Songbook Phil's vocals were great. Got to hope that this was lowest track in the record, otherwise i'm gonna start to miss testify. |

| Love deeply it !! The vocals are so sensitive, arrangements just brillant, and Phil has made it close and personnal (lyrics adaptations, typical Phil Collins ending, ...) ! Awesome !!! |

| Hmmm...I guess it's kind of nice...interesting concept for the album, but this sounds like a new song :S It's a "Phil Collins Song," alright. Did he write it? Aside from that...both Genesis singers do a cover album in one year...Anything to not have a proper reunion, I guess. |

| That was Phil's intention though - to sort of 'mask' the vocals on this record so that they sound as though the songs were recorded in the 60's. In some ways it's interesting though I think I would prefer it if he just recorded the vocals straight and not messing around with them. It all sounds a little 'compressed' because of this '60's feel' he's trying to get I think. Some powerful notes on here, would love to hear what they sound like if he just recorded them without any of this alteration, so to speak. | |

| Phil's vocals on this have an airy, thin sound. I noticed this on the 2007 tour, and it seems more pronounced now. It also sounds somewhat processed, which might be adding to the problem. Props to Phil, though, for keeping the flame alive. I'll be checking him out in NYC. Good luck Phil! |

| The Bryds did a cover in the 1960's and it was them who changed some of the lyrics or got them change by the person who wrote the original song. | |

| Now that i've listened it couple of times, i actually think it's great and it's really capturing the original sound; got to wonder Phil's amazing talent, his prove it again. | |

| He could sing the phone book and I would probably enjoy it, but the beginning lines are what he used towards the end of Lorenzo when he performed it live. I guess the Motown influence was even evident then. | |

| I'm digging "Going Back". I think folks have to stop being critics and just enjoy the tunes! Let's all stretch a little with this "different" version of Phil! | |

| Really like this cover. I agree it would have been nice to have the unprocessed vocal, but it still sounds great - particularly the beginning. I didn't know that part of Lorenzo was taken from another song, but the resemblance is striking. | |

| Hmm, reminded me of Lorenzo too. Not neccesarily a good thing. Phil's last great album for me was Both Sides, and i'm guessing it's going to stay that way. With regards to the vocals, his voice sounds gravelly (i don't think it's processing or Phil trying to create music of the era, just that he's given us a hell of a lot over the years, that the voice isn't quite there. Saying that, i really liked Everything That I Am and Phil's performances on Dutch X factor, so maybe he just needs a decent producer to give him some new ideas. Still i'll be awaiting the new stuff optimitically. | |
