Peter was interviewed by Michael Loesl in Cologne on 23rd March 2004. Many thanks to Michael for the scoop!

The film by Anna Gabriel will be available in a limited number at the merchandising booths on the upcoming tour. Having seen the entire 45-minute film, my impression is this: it's been done very very charming and lovely. Of course it's been done professionaly, but not as glossy and sugarcoated as it would have been done by outsiders. There are very moving scenes: for example you get to see excerpts of the Yoga-sessions PG did with his dad, which resulted in "Father, Son". On the other hand you see PG with young son Isaac having a lot of fun. Now that doesn't sound spectacular, but just like "UP", it's like a bookends film in that you see Isaac really exploring life, then you see all these middle aged men on stage and PG's father from whom life is clearly fading a bit. In that it is a very emotional and powerful movie, which I am sure, could only have been done by a family member. Other bits are at times hilarious. You see Levin, Evans and Rhodes trying to figure out the steps for a song onstage, which looks silly and very amusing. All in all it is a must for every Gabriel-interested Person. Only the length is a little downside, as it is much too short. PG said today, that he hopes that this movie will show enough of the humor which is involved in his everyday life, so that the perception of him as "the serious guy" will be out of peoples minds. A particularly hilarious scene is the one in which Richard Evans sitting at the rehearsals at "Li Cappani" in Sardinia, saying that the band was lucky, when they had PG in the rehearsals for one hour per day. Anna then cuts to PG having fun in the Sardinian see, which gives off the impression that he's enjoying swimming while the band has to rehearse. Now this scene and one in which PG makes fun of Melanie Gabriel's record sales figures, were almost cut and caused some discussions with Anna. But they sorted these scenes out or added some stuff, in order to not ridicule somebody.

Since Anna filmed Peter's solo-performance in Newport, they are trying to add some songs to Anna's film in order to present it in a longer form.

It is very likely that the first song of the upcoming concerts will vary from show to show, since Peter had a good experience in Newport. Thus, "Here comes the flood" to start the show, will definately be just one song to open the show. Others will likely include "Washing of the water". There will be 7-8 different songs being performed during "Still Growing UP", compared to the last tour in Europe. "San Jacinto" will most likely be performed. No word of "Shock The Monkey" and "Games Without Frontiers" yet. Also the lighting will be considerably different this time compared to last years European Tour, which should be giving the whole show another flavour and will make certain intentions within the theatrical aspect more accessable.

For all german readers, here's a real treat: PG will be in Aachen sometime in the near future to accept the Innovation Art Award given to him by the internationally well known Ludwig Forum in Aachen, Germany. The Museum has a unique reputation in the european arts landscape and the award-winners were, amongst others, Laurie Anderson in 1997.

Ticket sales are excellent at the moment with several british dates going near a sell out pretty soon. Dortmund, Berlin and Frankfurt will be sold out soon as well.
